I know you’ve been on the edge of your seat you’ve forgot about me didn’t you since I gave my first set of answers from April’s Challenge! Well here are the remainder for the month:
DAY 13: Describe your dream vacation.
I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii because it seems pretty. I read a book about how beautiful a volcano is on the inside and since then I’ve wanted to go. Of course, just chilling in the mountains for a couple of weeks in the summertime sounds heavenly, too. Just give me lots of cash in case I want to go shopping.
DAY 14: Tell us about your funniest Clomid/Follistim/injectables mood-swing story. If you don’t have one, tell us your funniest general infertility drug story.
Don’t know about funny but That Awkward Moment When You Are Holding A Bag That Has Your Husband’s Specimen Inside of It Waiting For the Dr’s Office to Open Already warrants a post of its own.
DAY 15: List 5 things you want to do before you die.
Mommyhood, Mommyhood, Mommyhood, Mommyhood, Mommyhood
DAY 16: Have you ever bonded with someone IRL over infertility, even just for a few minutes? It could be a family member, friend, neighbor, or even the clerk at the grocery store who noticed you OPK and vitamin purchase. Tell the story.
No, but I wish I could. I’ve emailed a few times with a friend who knows where I am coming from though.
DAY 17: If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be?
See number 15.
DAY 18: What is your favorite infertility-related quote? It doesn’t have to be explicitly related to infertility, but one that means something to your personal journey.
Aren’t all quotes related to infertility? I guess when you’ve had it as long as I have you tend to see it this way. I don’t have one particular favorite, but I do love TTC proverbs. For example, “Flattery will get you free injectables (I so wish!). How about “Pregnancy wasn’t build in a day”? Or, my favorite, “Put your best egg forward.”
DAY 19: List 5 pet peeves.
Children on leashes
Pajamas in public
When people say “Woe Nelly.” I don’t know Nelly. Let’s not tell her Woe.
When people lick their fingers before turning a page
When guys spit for no good reason (this is actually more of a disgust than a pet peeve). This is neither sexy nor sophisticated. There will never be a time when it will be.
DAY 20: Were you a product of infertility?
Oh goodness, no!
DAY 21: List 5 guilty pleasures.
Chocolate Milkshakes from Rush’s
Coca-Cola anytime of day or night
Plain M&M’s (like the entire one pound bag)
The Young and The Restless (no real guilt here)
This awesome song which makes me feel all rainbows and unicorns on the inside:
DAY 22: How has your financial situation affected your infertility journey?
Well, I guess I used to be rich but never realized it until IF came along. Now I feel like a poor college student working part-time except I’m ten years older and 30 pounds heavier.
DAY 23: Put your iPod on shuffle. List the first 10 songs that play.
Wow an interesting amalgamation of 90’s country and American Idol several years back.
Not Ready to Make Nice by the Dixie Chicks
Love Story by Taylor Swift
Just a Dream by Nelly
I Walk the Line by Chris Daughtry
The World I Know by David Cook
Love is Stronger Than Pride by Ricochet
You Can’t Lose Me by Faith Hill
Who Knew by Pink
There Goes My Life by Kenny Chesney
Bohemian Rhapsody by Constantine
DAY 24: Does your religion (or lack of) help/hurt/affect your infertility journey? Have you found religion? Lost it? Does it affect what treatments you do?
My religion definitely affects my fertility journey. God and I are in this together!
DAY 25: What was your first baby or pregnancy-related purchase you ever made? Was it before or after you started trying to conceive? Or was it after you were already pregnant? Why did you choose that particular item to buy first? If you haven’t purchased anything yet, why not?
I think it was from my honeymoon when we were on our cruise. It was in Mexico. I bought a baby’s little white dress with tiny, red rosettes. It was so funny because the lady selling it to me asked how old the baby was and I was trying to explain that the baby wasn’t here yet. Wow, that was 8 years ago.
DAY 26: Post a picture of something that makes you happy.
Believe it or not, I did paint my nails pink and blue in honor of NIAW. I will post a pic in a bit, though they are not as fresh as they were last week.
DAY 27: What do you use the “nursery” for right now?
It’s my husband’s man cave. It’s going to look quite differently very soon, I hope!
DAY 28: Have you ever done something “non-traditional” in order to help you conceive?
Other than propping my legs up on the bedpost, no I have not. In case you have not tried it, it does not work and you will feel quite foolish.
Day 29: What is your favorite book?
The Great Gatsby
DAY 30: After a month of infertility talk, we need a distraction. Give us a link to one of your favorite non-infertility-sites, or tell us about your favorite distraction activity/book/feel-good movie.
Distraction? What’s that? No, I love The Young and the Restless but do get annoyed with the easy, sleazy fertiles on the show. And there’s always a surplus of babies being kidnapped or sent off to baby boarding school.
That’s it. Read here for my Part 1 questions and answers.
